A full-strength Crusaders side knocked Loughgall out of the League Cup thanks to goals from Declan Caddell, Paul Heatley and Michael Carvill.
Loughgall went in at the break 2 – 0 down through Caddell and Heatley’s strikes, and with Ricky Copeland sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity. After the interval goalkeeper Gareth Buchanan denied Andrew Mitchell’s penalty before Jack Upritchard pulled a goal back for the Villagers. Crusaders sealed the win with five minutes remaining when Michael Carvill curled a great shot beyond Buchanan.
